Based on research and clinical expertise, there is a practical solution to addressing this vast gap in services and the consequences this population endures as a result: integrated treatment. Integrated treatment is designed to address at least two or more issues, often with a set of multiple disciplinary services and practitioners who are adept at providing specific interventions.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapies are the most researched and efficacious forms of psychotherapy for the most common presenting mental health issues. Therefore, it would be prudent for practitioners to learn why using CBT and related interventions, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), can be helpful in improving outcomes and sustaining change.
